Consisting of Wellington-based musicians David Donaldson, Janet Roddick and Steve Roche, Plan 9 has built a formidable range of credits in a short space of time.

The group have recently arranged and recorded a version of the traditional Marie's Wedding for Jackson's King Kong. They have also recently completed several commissions for Natural History New Zealand and spent 2005 working on the 26 part TV series "Holly's Heroes".

Plan 9, in collaboration with David Long, composed the “cultural music" for Peter Jackson's "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy, including both songs and instrumental pieces which have been used in the various versions of the films released to cinema and on DVD.
